Construction Estimator – Ground-Up Residential

A well established construction firm specializing in high-end ground-up residential developments across New York City. As we grow, we’re seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team and help shape the skyline of NYC one home at a time.

Position Overview:
The Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and proposals for ground-up residential construction projects. This individual must have a strong understanding of NYC building codes, materials, and construction methods, and should be capable of analyzing architectural plans, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, and supporting project budgeting efforts from pre-construction through close-out.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications
• Solicit and analyze bids from subcontractors and vendors
• Create comprehensive bid packages and proposals
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value-engineering solutions
• Assist with pre-construction budgeting and scheduling
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
• Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and engineers

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of estimating experience in ground-up residential construction (NYC experience highly preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
• Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, Buildertrend, or similar)
• Strong knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
